Cecilia Corbin

Specialty Area: Procurement

Cecelia Corbin has a background in standards, having worked with the Barbados National Standards Institution early in her career. She has worked in and managed laboratory environments for a number of years and has also had the opportunity to develop and set up two of them. Cecelia has held senior and management positions ranging from Plant Chemist/Quality Assurance Manager through Operations Manager, Senior Manager-Projects and Plant Manager for leading local companies as well as a subsidiary of a multi-national corporation when she had responsibility for procurement, inventory control, manufacturing, warehouse management, maintenance, shipping and customer service as well as security, among other tasks.

Since 2005, she has been the lead consultant for a small management consulting firm with responsibilities covering SOP documentation, quality assurance systems consulting & implementation, ISO & HACCP implementations and outsourced management services.


Carmen Gomez-Trigg

Specialty Area: Proposal Writing

Carmen Gomez-Trigg is a private sector development professional who has worked with the World Bank and Internal Finance Corporation, as well as regional financial institutions. She has worked on initiatives with international development agencies on programs designed to build capacity in the financial sector, as well as in the SME sector.

Carmen’s role at the World Bank saw the preparation of Project Proposals and Concept Notes, which were rigorously defended and justified before funds were awarded.


Joan Leacock

Specialty Area: Curricula / Standards Development

Joan Leacock is a highly motivated and experienced trainer and educator, with over twenty five years’ experience in various aspects of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry, including excellent educational and vocational experience.

Joan is currently operating as a Facilitator and External Verifier for various Lead Bodies on the N/CVQ’s tourism, hospitality, assessment and customer service programmes. Also, she has worked as a lecturer and consultant on specialists’ projects including planning and conducting residential training programmes, training assessments for staff for International Airlines, Tour Operators, Travel Agents and Destination Marketing Companies.


Gillian Thompson

Specialty Area: Curricula / Standards Development

Gillian Thompson holds a Bachelors degree in Education and Masters in Teacher Training. She is also a Prince2 practitioner, which is a recognised qualification for Project Management. Gillian has experience of managing projects funded by external organisations in the UK such as Microsoft, Learning and Skills Improvement Service, European Social Fund and National Institute for Community Education.

As E-Learning and Staff Development Manager for Bedfordshire City Council, Gillian was responsible for developing the curriculum and worked closely with a number of stakeholders. Gillian has over 10 years’ experience in writing proposals and managing projects.
