BHTA & The Potter Centre Award Ceremony

The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association and the Potter Centre developed a partnership to improve the competencies in the Hospitality sector of Barbados. This partnership recognized the importance of effective leadership and management in improving both individual and organizational performance, and sought to enhance the knowledge, skills and attitudes of managers and supervisors in this major economic sector which contributes significantly to Barbados’ foreign exchange earnings.

Over one hundred and fifty (150) candidates have been certified in Management Levels 2 and 3 under this partnership. The graduates of this partnership were congratulated on their accomplishments by the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Honorable Ronald Jones, J.P, M.P, and the Minister of Labour, Social Security and Human Resource Development, Senator, Dr. Esther Byer Suckoo. They were encouraged to continue in their quest for knowledge and for the enhancement of their skills.

A significant outcome of this partnership is that the Potter Centre is now better placed to contribute to the Human Resource Development of Barbados as a result of participating in the Competency Based Training Fund Programme.
