PBHC & BCSI Award Ceremony

The Competency Based Training Fund is pleased to have worked with and supported the partnership between the Personal Body Health Care Clinic and School of Holistic Therapies, and the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries (BCSI) over the last two years to help improve the skills and competencies of the Health and Wellness industry and the Tourism sector in Barbados.

The partnership aimed to provide training and certification in the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) Massage Therapy Level 3; along with ITEC designations in Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Sports Massage. To date, over 60 persons have been trained, while 29 persons have been certified by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Council.

The Award ceremony for the 2nd cohort of candidates took place on January 14, 2017, where the graduates were encouraged to share the benefits of the training programme with their friends, families and customers. Anderson Lowe, Manager of the Competency Based Training Fund in his remarks, encouraged the graduates to treat their customers with dignity and respect, and urged them to ensure that every customer feels special, regardless of the circumstances. Graduates were also encouraged to utilize the knowledge and skills that they have acquired during this programme to improve the efficiency and productivity of their respective organizations.
